NSSD or Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is a relaxing, computer-aided treatment that helps patients get pain relief. It works by gently distracting the spinal vertebrae apart in a controlled manner and it is not painful when this is done. This then allows the pressure to come off the spinal discs that are pushing upon the nerve responsible for the pain. During the treatment the spinal disc is then able to once again get water, oxygen and nutrients such as glucose to help heal the disc. Once the treatments yield substantial pain relief then we start the spinal stabilization process where we strengthen the spinal muscle to prevent a recurrence of the compression of the spinal discs once again.
