What is the actual cause? 

Compression of the sciatic nerve will cause the burning, stabbing, sharp, radiating, throbbing pain that many feel with sciatica. How does the nerve get compressed? The spinal discs get compressed due to the lack of stability within the discs and lack of water, oxygen and nutrients in the spinal discs. The pain comes in 3 steps.

 

1. The spinal discs get compressed.

 

2. The spinal discs then push upon the sciatic nerve.

 

3. This discs then have an accelerated lose of water, oxygen and nutrients and the pain levels will continue to remain or even higher.
